Community Listening Tour

As Spotlight Delaware strives to build the future of local news to serve all Delaware communities, we want to build it with you.

It is only with your voice that we will know where the story is, why it’s important, how it should be shared, and how we can make an impact together.

Thatโ€™s why in spring and summer 2024 we completed the second phase of a Spotlight Delaware Listening Tour.

A first phase occurred in 2022 as the Local Journalism Initiative completed a Local News and Information Ecosystem Assessment. Many of the insights gained from this study have been incorporated as founding principles of Spotlight Delaware.

Once we began reporting, we knew we wanted to hear from the community again. A series of 11 sessions were held between March-July 2024.

Session locations/partners were:

Harrington โ— Georgetown โ— Middletown โ— Milton โ— Rehoboth Beach
Seaford โ— Smyrna โ— South Coastal Region โ— Wilmington โ— Wilmington Alliance
